Smith, Other Senior Retired Police Officers Visit Lagos State, Police Formations.
Commiserate with Lagos Police Command
The Chairman Police Service Commission, IGP Musliu AK Smith (Retd) and some concerned retired senior police officers, on Thursday 29th October, 2020, visited Lagos State and inspected some of the damaged police formations in the Lagos State Command for on-the-spot assessment of the formations and to sympathise with the entire police workforce, the government and good people of Lagos State on the recent massacre orchestrated by some criminally-minded hoodlums, who disguised as EndSARS protesters.
The Chairman Police Service Commission, who expressed shock for the level of damage done to police formations, public and private facilities in Lagos State, above all, the gruesome killing of police personnel, called for thorough investigation into all the cases recorded during the crisis.
He emphasised that officers and men of the command should take the ugly incident as one of the challenges and hazards of police job in a developing country like ours.
Alhaji Smith while encouraging police officers and men in Lagos to rejig their anti crime strategies, assured the police family in Lagos and in other parts of the country that the high command of the Nigeria Police Force will do the needful to look after the welfare of its entire personnel, their safety and defend their fundamental human rights according to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The retired Police Chief also paid a visit to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Lagos House, Marina, Lagos, to sympathise with him, the government and good people of Lagos State. He however appreciated the governor for his supports to the police command towards achieving effective policing of the state.
The other retired officers who accompanied the Chairman Police Service Commission included DIG MO Kaasim, DIG Oshodi Glover, AIG Tunji Alapinni and AIG Kola Sodipo.
