The senator representing Anambra South, Ifeanyi Ubah, has retined the ticket of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the 2023 senatorial election.
The lawmaker was first elected into the Upper Chamber in 2019.
He won the ticket of his party in a primary election held at the Converge Hotel, Nnewi, on Sunday, according to a statement yesterday by his media office in Abuja.
The primary was conducted by officials from the party’s headquarters, led by its National Secretary, Vidiyeno Baimaiyi, and witnessed by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In his acceptance speech, Ubah promised to consolidate on his performance in the Senate.
Also, Peter Uzokwe, a former President General of Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, became the candidate of the party for the Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency
Also, a former governor and ex-Minister of Education, Dr. Sam Egwu, clinched the ticket for Ebonyi Central Senatorial ticket for the third time on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
