Jordan Henderson weighs up lucrative offer from Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq

According to The Athletic, Jordan Henderson is considering ending his 12-year Liverpool career and accepting a lucrative offer from Steven Gerrard’s new club in Saudi Arabia, Al-Ettifaq.

The Saudi Arabian club are making a concerted effort to sign the Liverpool skipper, who was initially hesitant to leave Anfield and relocate to the Middle East with his family. The 33-year-old, however, is now weighing up a two-year contract that would double his £200,000-a-week Liverpool salary and also includes the option of a third year.

Liverpool are ready to make a move for 20-year-old Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill. That’s according to talkSPORT, who say that the Reds could launch a bid anytime soon for the U21 European Championships winner, who Chelsea do not intend to sell.

The Blues want to keep the academy graduate, but the youngster is said to be stalling on a new deal amid interest from Brighton and Liverpool.

The 20-year-old caught the eye during his loan tenure at the Amex last season, and played a pivotal role in Young Lions U21 Euros triumph, where they impressively did not surrender a single goal.

Jurgen Klopp has urged Liverpool to sign French midfielder Khephren Thuram in the summer, according to Fichajes.

The Reds are keen to boost their squad with additions in the midfield and have already signed midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in this summer.

According to the French publication L’Equipe, Liverpool’s captain Jordan Henderson is tipped to leave the Reds and join the Saudi club Al-Ettifaq. Henderson has been a long-time servant of the English heavyweights but with him reaching his twilight years, Klopp could move on from Henderson in the midfield.

The signings of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai could see the English veteran being dropped to the bench next season even if he decides to stay at Anfield. The veteran is tipped to reunite with his former teammate Steven Gerrard who is the new manager of Al-Ettifaq.
