Alex Otti vows to bring reformation in Abia as state marks anniversary

. My administration will realise dreams of founding fathers, says Mbah

Abia State, yesterday, commemorated in a low-key, the 32nd anniversary of its creation by the military administration of retired General Ibrahim Babangida on August 27, 1991.

Abia was governed by five military governors, Group Captain Frank Ajobena, Colonel Ike Nwosu, Navy Captain Temi Ejoor, Colonels Moses Fasanya and Anthony Obi, before four elected civilians came on board.

Before the current Otti administration took office on May 29, 2023, the state had had four other civilian governors, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji and Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, respectively.

In his state-wide broadcast to mark the anniversary, yesterday, which he tagged, ‘Our Duty to the Next Generation,’ Otti expressed his deepest gratitude for the efforts, commitment and sacrifices of the founding fathers of the state, as well as individuals who tasked and contributed in diverse ways to its creation.

Similarly, the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has assured the realisation of goals and dreams of the state’s founding fathers through innovation and disruptive governance.

Mbah gave the assurances, yesterday, to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the state’s creation.

Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Mainstream Media, Dan Nwomeh, the governor extolled the founding fathers, who fought for the creation of the state in 1991.

He maintained that their sacrifices had never been in vain, as successive administrations have continued to sustain their legacies, working towards the realisation of those dreams.
