President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the confirmation of the appointment of Bashir Adewale Adeniyi as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The confirmation was contained in a statement issued Friday by Willie Bassey, Director, Information on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

The statement, which said the appointment took effect from October, 19, 2023, also added that Adeniyi’s tenure was in accordance with the extant provisions of the Public Service Rules (PSR).

The SGF said that President Tinubu also asked the Customs helmsman to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment.

Adeniyi was appointed as the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) by President Tinubu in June 2023.
